Employment Center (Elder Taylor)

We are area missionaries, in Santiago, Chile. Area missionaries do all kinds of different things. From office worker to the area doctor and every thing in between. Most of us work 5 day a week with Saturdays off and Sunday. We have been called to work in the Employment Office as office workers. We love it. The picture above is the Employment Office at Republica. It is set next to the Republica chapel.
Our day begins at 7 am. We walk10 blocks to the metro, ride the metro to Republica, then walk 8 more blocks to the office. We arrive at the office around 8 am. Here is Dennis openning the door and taking of the chain and padlock off. After we have opened. We scan all the computers. Cut the want adds out of the newpaper and get ready to open at 9am.
Elder Taylor helps conselor and advise people of what type of job they should look for. He also helps them know where they can look for a job. He give phone numbers to them for any of the jobs we have listed. He loves to talk and help them. He has met lots of interesting Chilean
He teaches the TAL worshop (career workshop) Tuesday through Thursday from 10 am to 4pm.. This is a workshop to teach every one how to interview, look, and put their best foot forward to get a job. Sometimes he teaches it on Saturday, too. We also have another class called TAE this teaches people how to open up and operate a small business.
When Sister Keen is eating or etc. He sits on the front desk. He he answers the phone, lets people in, greets them sweetly and gets their name address phone number and what stake they are from. Sister Keen goes home in one week so he will be on the front desk all the time.
