The Sunset of our Mission

As we enter the sunset of our mission.
We finish up with both sadness and happiness.
We are sad to leave Chile and the many senior missionaries behind.
Many of our Chilean friends will be greatly missed.
I have no desire to say Goodby to them.
Chances are we may never see them again and come back to Chile.
How will we get around without the metro and BIP.
The employment Center and special spirit we felt there.
The small miracles we experinced daily.
The chilean food.
Feria.
We are excited to return home and hold Lily and Logan for the first time.
Watch our little grandchildren grow up.
Wash dishes in warm water
American food.
Warm houses.
Cars.

Santiago, Chile the beloved city we live in and will now leave behind.

The beautiful flower, plants, trees we have found here in Chile

In just a few weeks we will start the next phase of our lives. As the moon or sun comes up and we start a new day with the desire to do better. I am excited to think of all the new things we can will do. The places we will go. I am looking forward to these things

Beaches, and more beaches

Lebu,
This is right on the beach. This is an old piarates cave and treasure not yet found. . It is as big as a football field on the inside.

With over 5,000 miles of coast line there are lots of beaches. Most of the water is cold and not too good for swiming. You can do some surfing. The waves are always beautiful. The sea food is wonderful because it is fresh. There are sea shells to be found.

Street Dogs and Fleas

There are STREET DOGS everywhere.
They live on the streets.
They have many many fleas.
Don't pet them because you will bring fleas home.
They know they have to wait for the lights to change before crossing busy streets.

Only a few cats live here.

Pamper house dog.

All house dogs wear coats and sweater in the winter.

I got one for Daisy since she is a spoiled house dog.

PIEGONS

t

I love to feed the piegon

Useful Animals in Chile

I love this picture of a goat herder and his dogs.
His goats.
Just a donkey Farmer plowing his fields the old fashion way.
You don't see this in the city as much as you do outside the city in the farming areas.

THE SKIRT

The Skirt
Melissa bought me this skirt at walmart just before I left for Chile. She told me that I would love it.
Look at it. It is black and basic. But love it. ??????????
At first I wore it only once a week. Now I wear it 3 times a week.
I do love it

This skirt wear like steel. Never wrinkles, needs no ironing, washes easy. You can just stuff it in your bag and take it out, shake and wear it. Really you can do that and it looks great. It looks the same as the day Melissa, brought it home to me.

Every sister missionary needs one. They also make slacks out or the same material. They also make other colors.

WHAT IS IT???????????????????????

I have been seeing these all over.
They are size of a small water melon.
IS IT A FRUIT OR VEGETABLE???
So I bought one.
I have bought lots of strange things.
Some are good, some are not.

The insides.

It looks like a cross between a cumuber and a squash.

After I baked it and cleaned our the seeds. It had the texture of a spaghetti squash. It tasted more like a squash than a fruit.

Ben I kept you some seeds before I baked it.

Then I found this package of jam in the supermarket. It makes wonderful jam.

ALCAYOTA (is it's name)
