Colorado in June part two

The second day trip we went on was a drive over Imogene Pass (13,100 feet) to Teluride. Greg had read on the internet that this pass was open. They were wrong. So up we went and we got just 100 feet of the top. The snow drifts were too high and the road hadn't been cleared yet.

Daisy by a water fall. There was water and water falls everywhere, all the snow was starting to melt. This was much prettier than Black Bear Pass. So up and up we went. I had my eyes closed most of the time.

We were almost to the top. Can you see how close we were, just about 100 feet more. The road hadn't been cleared of snow. It was beautiful. We turned around of a rock over hang so we didn't need to back down. Scarey.

See this road of only two tire tracks and only wide enough for a small car. Well, went on it ANYWAY and then you dropped off at a 90 degree angle at the end. It was an old mine and we found rock with gold flakes in ithem. But I would have rather walked across it than drive.
Catherine keeps reminding Greg that their car is not a off road vehile, but he doesn't listen. He is an amazind off road driver.

Dad panning for gold. It started to rain so we had to stop before he found a big nugget.

We had a wonderful time. They were wonderful host. We loved every minute of our time with them.
